Simple footwear began in San Luis Obispo, California the home of SheepskinShoes.com. The brand was born when two California Polytechnic State University Graphic Design students decided to create their own brand of footwear for their senior project.

Now based out of Goleta, California, just north of Santa Barbara, Simple has grown into an international company. They are currently owned by Deckers, the company that distributes the Teva and UGG footwear brands.

Simple was created in 1991 by a guy named Eric who had trouble finding really cool shoes. He decided that he'd rather go to a thrift store or make his own shoes than buy the latest trendy styles. Simple specializes in athletic inspired footwear for really cool people; it's as "Simple" as that. Simple footwear makes comfortable shoes, clogs, and sandals for both men and women. Although most are very casual, there are a few styles that can be used to dressed up for a stylish night out. Now they have landed a new line of sheepskin shoes called Simple Sheep:
